Fixed for T.O.

As the snow melts and the streets become more and more visible, the bike is now officially out for the season.

The fixie in the photo stays, the car behind it will be sold.  I’ve wanted to shed the burden of owning a vehicle for some time now, for both ecological and lifestyle reasons.  Since I’m moving to Toronto in August, I’ve decided to also make it the deadline for owning a car.  Stripping down to essentials feels good, and moving to a city with a decent public transportation system for urban dwellers also feels good.  The riding season will also be longer in Toronto than in Calgary, so I’m quite excited.

The only drawback is transporting my musical gear.  So I’m considering joining a vehicle co-op in Toronto to resolve this.

As a fallback I’ll also bring along my trusty Vespa for needed errands.

Less is less.
